Yesterday, we had a huge opportunity for those who were paying attention to our Facebook page. We had a 2014 RAM 1500 EcoDiesel on site, available for test-drives. Unfortunately, it was the only such truck ready for test-driving in the whole of the southeast, so now it has moved on. Now it’s gone.
Gone, much like all 8,000 of its closest siblings. RAM announced that the first batch of EcoDiesel 1500s was snapped up within three days of going on sale. Keep in mind that this is Motor Trend’s back-to-back truck of the year. You should also keep in mind that it tows 9200 pounds and gets an estimated 28 miles per gallon on the highway. Last thing to keep in mind, most of the general public has yet to drive this truck.
Yet 8,000 orders have already been filled.
If you don’t know enough about the 2014 RAM 1500 EcoDiesel already, Everyman Driver has provided a first look at it during the Portland Auto Show. You can watch that video below. RAM will be taking more orders in March. Until then, you can stop by Chris Leith Dodge, and we’ll tell you all about it.
