When you think of a dart, you imagine the little pointy things with fletching that you use to play the pub game. At worst, you might picture the poison darts sometimes used to incapacitate people in movies like Indiana Jones. Essentially, they aren’t a real threat. Your pre-conceived notions of the Dodge Dart might be similar. It’s not that the car isn’t imposing, but when you’re considering the rest of the Dodge family, the Dart definitely has some big shoes to fill.
Enter the Dodge Dart Blacktop Edition. Consistently characterized as “sinister” and “wicked,” Dodge wants this special edition to be a legendary projectile. This car could pierce dragonhide. Tim Kuniskis, president of the Dodge Brand said, “With the addition of the Blacktop package for the Dodge Dart, we’re adding to our lineup of vehicles that offer the more aggressive look that has become so popular with our customers.”
Building off the Dart SXT with Rallye Appearance Group, the Blacktop Edition adds Gloss Black side mirrors and 18-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels. Together with the Rallye signature black-masked grille and tinted headlamps, these accents add extra intimidation points to any of the five crisp color schemes, just like a linebacker wearing eye-black.
The Blacktop upgrade also offers the available Sun and Sound Group, adding a sunroof, rearview camera, boosted sound system, and navigation system to the car.
This vehicle will be on display in Detroit next week, and on showroom floors in late spring.
